With imported fireboxes the dimensions are fixed and the space is adapted to them. With in-house production the firebox is made for the space: recess width, depth and glass height are set by the project. Parts such as glass gaskets, firebricks and dampers also arrive far faster.
Instead of opening sideways, the glass door slides upward. The main benefits are that the door is never in your way while loading wood and that, closed, you get a completely uninterrupted glass surface.
