How it works
Plant-derived bioethanol burns in a stainless steel burner. Combustion produces essentially water vapour and carbon dioxide; there is no soot, ash or smoke, which is why no flue is required.

Safe use
Refuel only when the flame is fully out and the unit has cooled. Fuel must never be poured into a burning or hot burner. Some ventilation of the room is recommended during use. A snuffer lid is standard with every model.

Does a bioethanol fireplace smell?
Good-quality pure bioethanol leaves no noticeable smell as it burns. You may notice a faint alcohol scent while filling, which disappears once lit. Cheap fuels with additives can smell.
How long does one fill last?
It depends on burner capacity. A typical 1.5 litre reservoir burns for roughly 3–5 hours depending on flame setting.
Will it heat the room?
It gives off some heat, but its purpose is visual rather than heating. In a small room you will notice a difference; it should not be treated as a primary heat source.
